EVACUATION DRILL - Ken Stone
A practice tsunami evacuation drill is being organized
for Greentrees Village on October 26, 2007. This exercise will be coordinated with the 11:00 AM test of the emergency
siren test on the last Friday of October. The scenario for this drill will be to call the Florence Police Chief at the
time of the sirens requesting assistance from patrol cars to both regulate traffic on Rhododendron Drive and to pass through
the West side of Greentrees to announce the need to evacuate to the Recreation Hall on the East side of Rhododendron. Following
the evacuation CERT members would enter the West side doing a sweep for victims or residents unable to evacuate without assistance. They
would then call for transport to assist with these evacuations.
The exercise would be followed by a free soup and
chili lunch for everyone taking part in the evacuation drill.
If you, as a CERT volunteer, would like to participate
in this exercise, please call or email Ken Stone at firstname.lastname@example.org (phone 997-9481).
